A class rise proved no obstacle to Little Bit Ditsy scoring an impressive win at Doomben.

Little Bit Ditsy trialled well before finishing third when resuming in an Eagle Farm Class 3 in January but trainer Kelly Schweida stepped the filly up to Class 6 company for her latest assignment.

Michael Cahill continued his partnership with Little Bit Ditsy in the Diona Civil Engineers Handicap (1200m).

Little Bit Ditsy began fairly from barrier one but smart early speed left her midfield on the rails for the first half of the race but travelling comfortably.

The daughter of Bel Esprit still had half the field in front of her rounding the home turn but took time to hit top gear in the straight.

However, Little Bit Ditsy displayed a sharp sprint to sweep past the front-runners with 50 metres to travel before Cahill was kind to the three-year-old late.

Little Bit Ditsy scored her second win from five starts by a long neck, earning a $28,000 winner’s cheque for her owners.

Schweida found Little Bit Ditsy at the 2012 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.

The filly is a daughter of the multiple city winner Miss Doopsy.

Congratulations to Little Bit Ditsy’s owners – C S Hughes, Mrs S J Hughes, K T Heatley, C J Norris, B P Tobin, M A Tobin & A Salpietro – on their latest success.
