Smart prospect Accidental looks set for a bumper summer campaign after his brilliant win in the Brooky Bashers Class 1 Handicap (1100m) at Ipswich.

Accidental won his maiden at Eagle Farm three starts back before producing two solid efforts ahead of an 11-week break from racing.

The son of Choisir dropped back from city three-year-old company to Class 1 grade for his Ipswich run and duly proved classes above his opposition.

Experienced jockey Larry Cassidy took the ride on Accidental and capitalised on an inside draw to have the gelding travelling easily behind a decent speed for the first half of the race.

Cassidy had plenty of horse under him rounding the home turn before gaining a run to the inside of the leader at the 250 metres.

Accidental sprinted brilliantly to find the front in a matter of strides before drawing away under little pressure to score by 2-1/4 lengths, proving himself worthy of a test in tougher races next time out.

Accidental recorded his second win from seven starts and took his prizemoney tally to more than $18,000.

Congratulations to Accidental’s owners – M V O Racing (Mgr: K J O'Keefe).
